For authors, artists and publishers
We get a lot of requests to stock or promote books – trad, indie or hybrid. We aren’t able to respond to all enquiries, but we will take a look at all submissions.
We’ll consider all books for our stock, our recommended lists and the Tower Hamlets Book Award provided they meet the appropriate criteria (see below).
CRITERIA
Self-Published/ hybrid books will ONLY be evaluated from a full copy of the book (can be a .pdf).
We will only purchase books available to buy from UK suppliers in £.
Proofs/ promo copies
We evaluate ALL books before considering them for purchase.
For self-published authors we can make decisions based on a .pdf but it must be the complete work.
Promotional copies and proofs can be sent to the library.
Book level
Our library collection is for use by primary and secondary school pupils and teachers. The majority of our collection is at child/ student-level. We’ll only consider adult-level books if they’re suitable for teacher professional development.
Annual book lists and the Tower Hamlets Book Award.
These books are selected each March and must have been first published in paperback within the previous 12 months. This can include books in translation on their first imprint in English.
