The Schools Library Service was fortunate enough to secure a visit from Dame Jacqueline Wilson to Tower Hamlets on World Book Day 2017!
[slideshow_deploy id=’20069′]Over 1000 children were at York Hall in Old Ford Road on Thursday 2nd March for her one-hour talk and question and answer session. Afterwards pupils were able to get books signed and have photos taken with their favourite author.
The Schools Library Services would like to thank Jacqueline for her wonderful visit, Penguin Random House for supplying goody bags for all of the attendees, Brick Lane Bookshop for running the book sale, and Authors Aloud UK for all their help in bringing this event to Tower Hamlets.
The Schools Library Services is already planning next year’s World Book Day Event for which we’ve another very big name lined up for our subscribers…
