13th July 2023 saw pupils from Morpeth, Stepney All Saints and Swanlea join young poets at Central Foundation Girls School for the slam performance day.
Poets from the Poetry Society had been busy working with students this term in schools, teaching both writing and performance skills.
There were solo and group performances and – although it was a very difficult decision – the winners chosen by the judges were :
- Best Group : Morpeth School
- Best Delivery : Khadija – Stepney All Saints School
- Best Solo Poet : Alyssa – Central Foundation Girls School
- Best line : Soraya – Swanlea School
